Wonderware InTouch Machine Edition 2014 R2
Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy and process management, has released an updated version of Wonderware® InTouch Machine Edition software – a fully featured HMI software optimized for mobile and embedded operating systems and now with support for Linux and VxWorks operating systems.
Product overview:
InTouch Machine Edition offers all the tools you need for a robust HMI with a small footprint that makes it perfect for use with functional specific devices such as:
- Small panel PCs
- Smartphones
- HMI Panels
- Devices using Windows Embedded Standard and Windows Embedded Compact (formerly known as Windows CE) operating systems
- NEW: Devices using Linux and VxWorks operating systems (new IoTView runtime edition)
InTouch Machine Edition was designed to give users the all the necessary tools for HMI with the ability to scale applications effortlessly from the smallest capacity devices to large scale monitoring and data acquisition projects, through native integration to other products from the Wonderware Portfolio, such as System Platform and Wonderware Historian (on premise and in the Cloud). InTouch Machine Edition includes the full use of 250+ protocols, as well as native OPC DA/UA interface.
Key Benefits:
InTouch Machine Edition delivers outstanding value in the following areas:
- Powerful Functionality
- Engineering Simplicity
- Easy integration of small footprint devices to other Wonderware products such as System Platform, Historian and InTouch Standard
New Features:
- Studio Mobile Access (SMA) – HTML5: Multiple Document Interface (MDI) enables access to graphical interface from any device. This new feature allows customers to access the ITME graphical interface from remote Web Browsers (e.g.: Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome, Safari) running on different platforms (e.g.: PCs, iPads, iPhones, Android tablets/phones, etc). This solution is based on the platform-agnostic HTML5 standard technology and it is supported by EmbeddedView running on Windows Embedded Standard (EmbeddedView).
- OPC UA redundancy: Native redundancy for OPC UA. Even previous versions of ITME provided a native OPC UA Client. However, in this version, it offers a user-friendly configuration interface (dialog) where the user can list two or more third-party OPC UA Servers and drag them up and down in a list to define their priority for redundancy (hot/stand-by, cascading, load balancing, etc). The native OPC UA Client from ITME will automatically switch from the current external OPC UA Server to the next one on the list if the current one becomes unavailable.
- IoTView – Platform Agnostic Core runtime – supports IoT (Internet of Things) built to embrace new technology for connectivity specifically for devices running on Linux andVxWorks operating systems. InTouch Machine Edition IoTView makes the integration between intelligent devices and the automation system a reality and is a natural expansion of InTouch Machine Edition. ITME IoTView combines a very small footprint and low system requirements with all the tools and functionality needed to develop sophisticated end point devices.
- Portfolio Integration: Support for Wonderware Online storing Trend Data directly on the Wonderware Historian Server in the Cloud. Users on embedded devices anywhere in the world can directly connect to Cloud stored data.
